Talyllyn Railway

After failing with a broken driving axel on the Fayles Tramway, Russell was rescued by the Birmingham Locomotive Club.

This was the 3rd time Russell has escaped the cutters torch

As there weren't any preserved 2 foot gauge railways at the time, Russell was taken to Tywyn Wharf Station in August 1955.

In 1956 the BLC removed the broken axel, and had it repaired by Hunslets (for free)

However after this Russell was left in the open as a static exhibit.
